Paxos is a favored trekking destination with hundreds of ancient donkey tracks leading through terraced olive groves and through sleepy hamlets. The Villa finds itself in the midst of numerous such trails. Moreso, 200m aways from the Villa lies the cistern “Sterna Eliniki”, which dates back to the Venetian era.

The cistern is built on the edge of a natural rock formation and is of circular shape. Water continues to be collected still today from the paved surface that slopes towards the center. During periods of war, the cistern was used to provide ships with drinkable water. The construction is considered a true work of art.
